HOMEMADE VANILLA GRANOLA

Since my team is on a total granola kick, I’m in the Thermador kitchen creating a new granola for us to all munch on.  We all seem to look for snacks throughout the day so what better than a little something sweet and healthy.  We’ve all been there, middle of the day lacking energy craving something to eat, so trust me when I say I looked for something super simple and fast to make.  There’s not much to this recipe so I turned the Thermador wall oven on and preheated it to 300 degrees on convection, which will circulate the air making it feel hotter and in return cooking it faster, I say the faster and more efficient the better! So I then started to prep, put all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and put that aside.  I then put the oil, honey, and vanilla extract into a saucepan that was compatible with induction (ferrous metal) because I was going to use the Thermador freedom induction cook top.  For those of you who don’t know much about induction let me take a minute to tell you how cool it really is.  Induction cook tops gives all the performance of gas with the clean ability of glass, which in my household is awesome considering you probably will never catch my fiancé cleaning the kitchen.  Induction boils down to one word Magnetism!  Rather then turning on a radiant electric coil which takes forever to heat up and even longer to cool down and provides the user very little control, Induction is either intensifying or detensifying an electro magnetic field.  So it will not only boil 6 quarts of water in less than 90 seconds it can also go from a rolling boil to a delicate simmer in a fraction of a second.  It’s a magnetic reaction, which moves ions in the pan to create heat.  Getting back to the granola I put the saucepan on the induction cooktop and got it to a boil in no time, poured the mixture over the oats and mixed it till all the dry ingredients were moistened and fully coated.  I then spread it across to large cookie sheets and put it in the Thermador wall oven for about 25 minutes.  It smelled so good I couldn’t wait for it to cool down when I pulled it out of the oven.  Some of my team couldn’t even wait for it to cool down and started taking it by the cup fills.  So yummy!  Clean up was super easy I loaded everything up into the Thermador Dishwashers.  I then just took Windex when the induction cook top cooled down and wiped it, it looked just as good as before I started, nothing better then that.

Until next time,
