Eight Easy Snacks You’ll Want to Pack for the Beach

Most people think loading up on your SPF is the most important thing to remember when packing for a fun family beach day. But anyone with hungry stomachs will tell you snacks is definitively a close and necessary second. Between sun, sand, and those intense games of volleyball; you’ll always be left with some hungry campers. Very hungry.

Nobody wants to devote much time to planning out pre packaged meals that take longer to make than actually eat, preparation is a must. The secret to an easy breezy beach day is just a little thinking ahead, and a bit of creativity.

The first and most accessory for any beach outing is a cooler. Normally people tend to opt for traditional plastic but for a no fuss, no muss clean up consult your local drugstore for a Styrofoam cooler. These can be tossed before  everyone loads back into the car so you don’t have to clean it later.

  1. Polly-O ham and cheese rollups. – Simply take individually wrapped Polly-o cheese stick and roll it inside a piece of ham, pepperoni, or your favorite deli meat. Rewrap with a single sheet of aluminum foil and your good to go!
  2. Rainbow Fruit Skewers – This is a healthy snack that you’ll actually WANT to eat. Garb some skewers and load up strawberries, oranges, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries, and grapes for a sweet rainbow treat
  3. Cubed Chicken Bites – This protein will fill you up and give you plenty of energy to battle the heat.

Cut chicken cutlets into cubes and fry with a bit of oil. Mrs. Dash, salt and pepper. Pair with a sleeve of Ritz crackers for a tasty satisfying on the go meal!

  1. Mozzarella, tomato and Basil Trio – Opt for small cherry tomatoes and mini mozzarella balls. Chop a bit of basil and balsamic vinaigrette for this classic Italian treat! Molto Benne! Divide into containers.
  2. Mini Brioche Nutella and PB sandwiches –  These are accessible in any local supermarket. Layer with your favorite peanut butter, be it crunch or smooth and top with a hearty spoonful of delicious Nutella.
  3. Picnic pinwheels – Because everything taste better when it’s bite sized! Load up your favorite sandwich wrap (we recommend tomato -basil) with turkey, Swiss, lettuce and mayo. Roll and cut into discs. Secure with a pinwheel, just remind everyone to remove before eating!
  4. Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas – The best part about these is that they’re just as good cold! Begin shredding precooked rotisserie chicken (all supermarkets have these as well and toss with green chilies, canned black beans, seasoning and green olives. Layer your favorite cheese and chicken mixture between two tortillas and microwave on high for one minute. Let cool and slice into triangles.
  5. Trail Mix- This mix is addicting and will be gone before you know it! Grab a mason jar and throw in pistachios, peanuts, M&Ms, chocolate chips, dried cranberries and coconut flakes. The best  thing about these is that they’re protein packed with a chocolately kick!
