Before & After

In the before picture you will see that the client had a 30″ gas cooktop in a granite countertop, a 36″ braun recirculating hood in old custom cabinets.

Some of the necessary alterations include –
– reworked the gas pipe not only to the cooktop but also to the dryer on the wall behind the kitchen.
– Customized venting in order to get the hood vented to the outside.
– Installed an outside vent cap .
– The floor did not go under the cabinets that we removed so we had to rebuild the floor under the range.
– Customized his cabinets! Including adding a filler above the hood in order to get it to be the correct height.
– We had paint color matched at Home Depot so that we could paint the filler piece and all of our cut cabinet edges.
– Cut the granite countertop to fit a 48″ pro range. We also cut the left over granite into a nice section so that he can use it as a backyard table .
– Years ago he must have had a down drafted cooktop. Although the down draft unit was gone, the hole in the wall was still there allowing cold wet air to come into the home. I insulated and closed the opening.
– This job required a 6″ duct cover. Unfortunately a 6″ x 48″ duct cover is not available. We had a 12″ x 48″ cover cut down. ( It came out great!)
