A common issue during the cold weather months is the drainpipe has completely frozen over. There is a quick fix to this, which can help avoid the costly price associated with a service technician coming to the house. Take hot water and pour it down the drainpipe that has frozen over. Also you can take a hair dryer to the pipe that will gradually heat it up. Both of these have been proven to help in these situations but in the event you find your pipes still frozen you can take some windshield wiper fluid (one that is approved for below frozen temperatures) and pour it down the pope as well.
